Introduction to KONA Core Network Server
TEKTELIC KONA Core Network Server provides tools for managing LoRaWAN network resources and device communications.
| Component | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Gateway | Receives LoRaWAN radio traffic from end devices and forwards it to the Network Server. |
| Gateway Group | Organizes gateways for management and assignment. |
| Application | Groups end devices and provides the context for application-level integrations. |
| End Device | A LoRaWAN sensor, tracker, or other connected device registered with the Network Server. |
| Integration | Connects application data flows to an external service, for example using HTTP or MQTT. |
| Data Converter | Processes application payload data for supported integrations. |
- An end device transmits a LoRaWAN uplink.
- One or more gateways receive the radio message and forward it to the Network Server.
- The Network Server processes the message and associates it with the registered device and application.
- A configured integration can deliver application data to an external system.
You need access to a KONA Core Network Server deployment, an account with the appropriate permissions, a compatible gateway, and a LoRaWAN end device with its provisioning information.
