Sensor History overview
The History tab is designed to display the latest reported sensor measurements and help you analyze changes over time using a summary panel, time-series chart, and historical data table.
- Open Sensors.
- Select a sensor.
- Open the History tab.
The top summary panel displays cards for sensor parameters supported by the selected sensor model and model version. Each card shows the parameter name, latest reported value, measurement unit, and any configured Threshold Breach rule values where applicable.
Hover over a parameter card to view the full parameter name, its description, and the Last Activity timestamp associated with the displayed value. Threshold Breach events visually highlight affected values.
The panel refreshes latest values approximately every 30 seconds (±5 seconds). Missing values are shown as -; invalid values use a warning state. Unsupported or unconfigured thresholds are also indicated as unavailable.
- Select the Visibility Preferences control in the upper-right corner of the Sensor Summary panel.
- Review the alphabetically ordered parameters supported by the sensor model.
- Enable or disable the parameters you want to display.
- Apply your changes to update the cards immediately, or close the menu without saving.
At least one parameter must remain selected. Preferences are retained per user account and sensor model. When more cards are selected than fit horizontally, the panel supports horizontal scrolling.
The time-series chart is designed to help identify trends and compare measurements over time. It is displayed above the historical data table and has its own controls.
- Select the parameters to plot.
- Set the date range.
- Choose a time interval or aggregation interval.
- Select the available aggregation type, where applicable.
- Review the chart and hover over plotted data to inspect values.
The chart uses timestamps on the horizontal axis and measurement units on the vertical axis. Numeric parameters use continuous scales; text-based parameters are represented as discrete states. The chart legend identifies plotted parameters. Persistent point markers are not shown by default; points appear on hover.
For a single-day range, time labels use a time format such as 12:00 PM. For multi-day ranges, labels include the date, for example Apr 3 12:00 PM.
Only parameters supported by the selected sensor model and version are available for display. The source specification describes independent chart controls and a proposed resize handle; confirm the resize control in the final UI.
The History tab also provides a table of sensor measurements with controls independent from the chart.
- Timestamp is the first column. It displays the time of a raw reading or the time range represented by aggregated data.
- Each selected parameter appears in its own column, using its display name.
- The table supports reviewing measurements in a structured format and is intended for exportable analysis.
- Parameter availability depends on the selected sensor model and version.
Use the table’s parameter, date-range, interval, and aggregation controls when available in the completed interface. Verify the final table export and resize controls against the released UI.
A missing value does not necessarily mean a sensor has failed. A parameter may not have been reported during the selected period, may be unsupported by the sensor model/version, or may have invalid data. Use Sensor Details → Activity & Connectivity to review the last recorded activity.
