- Beacon Model Name: Input the name of the beacon model (e.g., “Acme Beacon X1”).
- Tags: Add optional tags to categorize the beacon model (e.g., “third-party, indoor”).
- Description: Input an optional description (e.g., “Third-party beacon for indoor tracking”).
Click Save to confirm the beacon model; Cancel to discard.
Expectations: The new beacon model is added to the system with the specified name, tags, and description. It appears in the Beacon Models list and is available for associating with third-party beacons.
Conditions: You need admin permissions or explicit rights to edit beacon models. The beacon model must already exist.
Steps:
Click the More Actions (…) button next to a beacon model (e.g., “Acme Beacon X1”) in the Beacon Models table.
Select Edit from the context menu to open the Edit Beacon Model modal.
Step 1: Modify Beacon Model Details
- Beacon Model Name: Modify the name (e.g., “Acme Beacon X1 Pro”).
- Tags: Update tags to categorize the beacon model (e.g., “third-party, indoor, v2”).
- Description: Update the description (e.g., “Updated third-party beacon for indoor tracking”).
Click Save to confirm changes; Cancel to discard.
Expectations: The updated beacon model reflects changes in the Beacon Models list, including its name, tags, and description. It remains available for associating with third-party beacons without affecting existing associations.
Conditions: You need admin permissions or explicit rights to delete beacon models.
Consequences: Deleting a beacon model removes it from the system, preventing its use for new beacons. If associated beacons exist and the user lacks sufficient permissions to their sites, deletion is blocked. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.
Steps:
Click the More Actions (…) button next to a beacon model (e.g., “Acme Beacon X1”) in the Beacon Models table.
Select Delete from the context menu to open the Confirm Delete Beacon Model modal.
Review the warning about permanent deletion and any restrictions related to associated beacons.
Click Delete to confirm; Cancel to abort.
Expectations: If no beacons are associated, the beacon model is permanently removed from the system and no longer appears in the Beacon Models list. If associated beacons exist, a warning prevents deletion unless permissions are sufficient. To delete multiple beacon models, select them in the table and follow the same process.
