Dashboard

Overview

The Dashboards feature provides a centralized interface to monitor and analyze key gateway metrics in Tektelic Network Server. You can visualize the status and activity of gateways across your network, filter the data by Gateway Groups, and gain valuable insights through interactive visual components.

Users can choose to:

  • View metrics for all gateways
  • View metrics for selected Gateway Groups
  • Focus on a single Gateway Group

Available Dashboards

1. Status Trend (Provisioned vs. Online)

  • Type: Multi-line chart

  • Purpose: Displays trends over time for provisioned vs. online gateways.

    Example Status Trend View

This chart shows how many gateways were provisioned and how many were online over time. Two lines help you compare the total number of gateways in the system vs. how many were actually connected at any given moment.

This chart helps identify connectivity issues and track provisioning progress over time.

2. Connectivity Status Map

  • Type: World map with markers

  • Purpose: Visualize the real-time connectivity status of provisioned gateways with known GPS coordinates.

    Example Connectivity Status Map View

Map Features:

  • Each marker represents a provisioned gateway with valid coordinates.
  • Marker colors indicate the current connection status:
    • 🟢 Green – online
    • 🔴 Red – offline
  • The map automatically adjusts to fit all visible markers.

This map gives a quick geographic overview of gateway connectivity across your deployment.

Note: A gateway will only appear on the map if it has valid location data.
This data must either come from GPS or be manually set in the Gateway → Location tab.
If a gateway has no GPS and no manually configured location, it will not be shown on the map.

3. Events Heatmap

  • Type: Time-based heatmap

  • Purpose: Shows the frequency and category of gateway-generated events (e.g. alarms, faults) over time.

    Example Events Heatmap

Heatmap Features:

  • This heatmap shows how often different types of gateway events happened over time. You’ll see categories like alarms or connection issues, with color intensity showing how frequently each event occurred. You can hover over any block to see more details.

This view is useful for detecting issues, trends, and anomalies in gateway behavior.

Global Dashboard Controls

  • Date Range Selector – Choose a time window for data visualization.

  • Manual Refresh – Refresh data manually at any time.

  • Auto-refresh Interval – Enable automatic data refresh at a selected interval.

How to Access Dashboards

You can access the Dashboards in two ways:

Option 1 – From Gateway Group

  1. Navigate to the Gateway Groups tab.
  2. Open the desired Gateway Group.
  3. Click the “View Dashboard” button in the top-right corner.

This opens the dashboard for the selected group only, displaying metrics for gateways in that group.

Option 2 – From Gateway Tab

  1. Navigate to the Gateways tab.
  2. Click the “View Dashboard” button in the top-right corner.

This opens the dashboard for all Gateway Groups. You can filter the data using the “Select Gateway Group” dropdown to focus on specific groups.
